To talk about Rajnikanth is to talk about the idol of South India and why not of all India. He is portrayed like the Superman of India in the movies and there are jokes often referred to Rajni’s super powers. Read the rest of this entry »

I watched Outsourced last year and was always curious of what people in India will think of such a TV show. Will they find it offensive? Will they find it amusing? Read the rest of this entry »

“You’re a part-time lover and a full-time friend The monkey on your back is the latest trend I don’t see what anyone can see in anyone else But you” (The Moldy Peaches)
The holiday season is officially over. Guests are gone and today hubby and I wrapped all the Christmas decorations and suddenly our home seems so dull. But it’s okay, now it’s time to get back to work.
These few days have been really cold and foggy too. It’s that time of the year to wear thermal clothes, and drink hot chocolate.

Why This Kolaveri Di has the whooping 21,652,670 views in Youtube as of today. I have to say that I’m quite surprised about how popular this song has become in less than a month from it’s release in India.

I can’t believe that I started this blog 2 years ago. So many things have changed since then. I’ve learned many things about India, I have observed and understood other things too, I am slowly finding a place in this huge country.
There have been ups and downs and still after a long time living in India, there are things that drive me crazy but there are other things I like too. Read the rest of this entry »

During the last months inflation has gone up, up and up. Prices are skyrocketing and now everything seems more expensive than before. Surprisingly, the government has decided to allow multi-brand foreign retails to invest 51% in India and 100% investment for single brands. Immediately after the announcement the stock market showed green numbers and the businessmen seemed to be pleased with the news. Read the rest of this entry »

When you ask an Indian about what family means to them, you normally get this kind of response “Family is very important in India” But is it?
For me family means a strong love bond and nothing can break it. My parents taught me that their love was unconditional. “You can make mistakes in life but we will always love you”. I feel the same about my family, I will always love them, and why shouldn’t I. Read the rest of this entry »

Bollywood is a magic world where everything is possible and this time they have added a few spoons of Spanish to spice up a Hindi song.
I’m talking about the song Señorita from the Indian movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The strong voice in Spanish by flamenco singer Maria del Mar Fernández along with the Hindi lyrics make this song very catchy. Read the rest of this entry »

The Indian advertisements always make me laugh. The other day I watched this Airtel ad and found it very amusing.
Shows a guy with a very limited budget: Rs. 285 (5.82 USD) on what I assume is a date with 2 girls at a restaurant. Now, what can you possibly buy at a restaurant with that kind of budget and for 3 people. The girls wanted some “expensive” dishes like pasta napolitana and Thai green curry but the waiter tells them very seriously that such dishes are not available ha ha.

Indian Festivals left me exhausted, but in a good way. I really got myself into them this year as I wanted to fully experience the festival season at it’s best. Now I need few days to recover after so much hassle and fun.
It was nice to watch the city full of lights. People seemed to be in a better mood, smiley and happy. I enjoyed shopping fo home decorations. During Diwali I visited some friends and ate many sweets. Maybe too many. Read the rest of this entry »
