Well this is my every day’s Problem… Well not really…!!! Two weeks back I went to the market to buy some vegetables and I usually buy from only one Sabji Wala (Vegetable Vendor) because only he understands what I want to say to him. I don’t think he knows anything in English but I put my fingers on the vegetables and he tells me the prices and then I negotiate a little and he gives me some better prices. The rest, they know I don’t know Hindi so they overcharge me.
Last time when I went to buy some vegetables, I picked some vegetables and gave him a 100 rupee note but he did not have the change so he said to me some something in Hindi… the only thing I could understand was that next time he will add the balance. So today I went to buy some vegetables and when I paid him the money he did not added that amount. Although it was only 5 rupee but it was a balance. I counted the money and found out that he did not add the last time balance. Read More…

Yep… Doing Business for a Foreign National in India is a pain. First it’s the System, Second the Diverse languages and Third is the corruption and Middle man in your contracts.
My friend Peter has landed in India 6 Months Back for setting up their companies operations. He is mainly from Latin America and Knows Spanish Only so Language is one of his biggest problems. His company has sent him to setup the operations from the scratch. He had to do the Land Acquisitions and patent and setting up an office and factory and everything… so he had to have someone who could translate Spanish English and Hindi, so he found one Indian Spanish English Hindi Translator and he trusted Him. But after 2 months he found out that the translator was actually a middle man favoring certain company… So he fired Him… Now he does not have anyone to Translate… He has to go often to Delhi and other places for his work…
Whenever he speaks to me he sounds like a poor Kid who is lost in the Market and doesn’t know where to go or what to do… Read More…

Today I was Invited to an Indian wedding along with My Family.
Indian weddings are always full of Pain and curiosity to me. “” Pain “” because I have to wear Indian clothes in which I put Myself 1 out of 10. I Like Indian clothes very much. But I don’t know how to Put that 7 meter sari all around me. I tried to Learn from my Mother in law… from the sisters of my husband and also I tried myself from You Tube, but still I can’t manage to put it properly. Once I have put it I can manage it pretty well but putting it is a really pain to me.
Anyway somehow I had managed to Put the Salwar Suit Today. In the Last wedding I wore Sari). So I went along with My family and here are a few pics I had just taken from my Mobile.
Every photo has One story…

This is where the wedding reception was organised. It is just 200 mts from My Home. It was a Big field turned into a wedding reception Place… seems to be quite Nice in the Night…

This is how the The Bride and Groom are welcomed in Indian weddings. They sit in the front and the People come and greet them one by one. And I saw people mostly giving some envelope to them. I guess money…!!

This is the famous Paan stall in the wedding. People eat Paan after their meal in India. Paan is basically Beatle Leaf and some sweet material is stuffed inside this. You chew it and feel the taste of the leaf and the stuff together… strange but good… This is what they put inside the Paan Read More…

The Temple where your wishes turn into Bells…

My Journey to the Famous Temple was full of my excitment and surprise. During my visit to the Temple I met with the Man who has been carrying his mother on his shoulder for the last 14 years.
Then, when I reached the temple I saw it was in the middle of the thick woods. It was not visible from the road, but you could see the stairs and when I started to climb up the stairs I saw lots of bells hanging on the sides of the stairs. This mostly happens in all the temples in India. You normally find big or small bells in the temples, so I thought it’s Normal as I had been in many Temples in India before.
While I reached the temple (Pheeeeewww It had 20 steps which I could not climb easily as I could feel the cold air going inside me.. and I could feel it actually….. Pheeewww…) suddenly I felt the cold. It was really cold as the sunlight was not reaching there and secondly we had to put off the shoes to enter the temple.
It WAS COLD…Well my husband knew so he asked me to take a pair of another socks. So I walked with the socks and then we offered the Prayer there as per the customes.

My first surpise was that inside the temple I saw some hand written Letters…They were hanging here and there. And they were not simple letters They were actually Notarized papers (Notary paper issued by the Govt. of India) and people had written something on that in Hindi… which I obviously could not read, so I asked my hubby what was that and he explained me that People have given written request to the God for seeking fair Justice. So I was confused because I never saw anything like this in my life… so I curiously asked… and what happens when the Justice is given to them… he explained that when someone’s wish is completed he has to offer a Bell in the temple. So that’s why there were Lots of bells… all around the temple… Read More…

Yesterday… I met with an amazing guy… his story seems to be an interesting story in today’s context.
While on my journey to a local temple I saw a man carrying his mother on his shoulder. I saw the picture of the same man in the Local newspaper a few days ago. So my curiosity stopped me there to have a look on him. I stopped and asked my husband to enquire if the story was true. This man is carrying his mother on his shoulder for the last 14 years.
His version says… when he was child he was very sick and once his condition was very Bad. So his mother prayed to God and said that if his son gets well and lives, she along with her son will visit all the FOUR PILGRIM PLACES OF INDIA.
Later on His mother lost her eye sights but the son decided to fullfill the promise of her mother. So he put her in a basket and since then he has taken her to almost all the South Indian temples. They stay in free rest houses or nearby temples on their journey. Read More…

The one thing I like most about Indians is that they are very adoptive in terms of language and they know more than one language…

Well… sometimes this world seems so small. If you look around you see yourself and the people you know. Rest everyone looks like strangers and sometimes it’s like you know a whole lot of things.
Its a little late Now…
