Yesterday… I met with an amazing guy… his story seems to be an interesting story in today’s context.
While on my journey to a local temple I saw a man carrying his mother on his shoulder. I saw the picture of the same man in the Local newspaper a few days ago. So my curiosity stopped me there to have a look on him. I stopped and asked my husband to enquire if the story was true. This man is carrying his mother on his shoulder for the last 14 years.
His version says… when he was child he was very sick and once his condition was very Bad. So his mother prayed to God and said that if his son gets well and lives, she along with her son will visit all the FOUR PILGRIM PLACES OF INDIA.
Later on His mother lost her eye sights but the son decided to fullfill the promise of her mother. So he put her in a basket and since then he has taken her to almost all the South Indian temples. They stay in free rest houses or nearby temples on their journey.
When I was returning back from the temple, I saw that the man had actually covered a distance of 4 Km. of the hills and the people on the way were giving him free drinks and food.
What a story… Truly Indian…
I was surprised to see him and his dedication towards the commitment her mother had made in her Life…
