I guess the life of most of the foreigners is more or less same in India except for those who are in a high profile position such as a country manager of some MNC, etc.

What I have realised is that mostly we have to fight to understand the mentality as well as we have to convince ourselves to adjust in the time phase. I have seen and lived a life where the infrastructure as well as the economic and social development of life is far ahead of Indian society. We have spent our childhood going to the big malls, moving in a clean metro, hanging around with friends and going out on Saturday nights with friends. But when I see the things now happening in India and I read the news that these things would be coming into India I feel like I have gone back into the time like stone age and when I visit my country I see the latest things, the new shops around the corner and I feel like this will happen in India after ten years.

Still I find very less young couples holding hands and going out on the street. If I somehow see some one I feel like “WOW” it is happening.  I remember when I first came to India, I wanted to hold the hand of my husband but he said to me this is not seen as a very good gesture in India. First I was surprised and disappointed as it was the most simplest gesture of showing your affection to someone you LOVE and I couldn’t do it. I cried and felt very disappointed but now after 4 years living in India I understand what my husband meant but still I can’t handle it.

And it’s not just in the personal life, I also feel the same on doing business as well as on the professional front. There are many things which are justified on the Indian ground but its very difficult for a foreigner to accept them as they are not justified for us.

I wanted to share this advertisement that shows a foreigner in Mumbai…I would say Survive India…Survive the World !!
