Who doesn’t like to have a good sleep? I do and I’m sure almost everyone does. In India, the extreme temperatures of the Indian summer and some daily life conditions make sleeping almost an odyssey.
Some problems during the summer are:
a. Modern night vampires = mosquitoes. Blood suckers that can get really annoying when hungry.
b. Scorching temperatures (40°C – 50°C) that will make wet your shirts, t-shirts and even your undergarments.
c. Gauranteed Power Cuts.
So over the time I have been collecting different gadgets that helped me to face these problems:
1. The grandma things… tannnn ta tee The Mosquito Net… Basic to have one of them in India! If you adjust it to your bed then it’s most likely that you will have a great sleep. (PS: Be sure there are no mosquitoes inside the net!)
2. Air Conditioner or Cooler. First time I see this device in my life. Only in India and even home made! The air cooler consumes very little electricity. You just have to put water inside the box and its fan blows cool air. Whatever you choose, nothing like cool air for a great sleep.
3. And finally, only the Chinese can do this: The Mosquito Bat. A Chinese invention to kill your enemy. You can swing the bat like a sword and fry your enemies until they die and you smell the smoke.
It has nice features like a torch and it is also rechargeable in the normal plug. When I bought it the shopkeeper said to me “there is no guarantee coz it’s made in China”, but so far it works great and it’s also fun to chase mosquitoes and see them cracking!
Yes I know, it is such a hard work to use these gadgets every day. All I can say is that I prefer to do that instead of waking up sweaty, cranky and with bites all around me in the morning.
