With all the controversy around the upcoming Commonwealth Games in New Delhi I could not help but to think… what is the meaning of being on time for Indians? I have the feeling that things in India work at a different pace, specially in government offices where they have a “chai break” during busy working hours and if they call you for a meeting at let’s say 11 a.m. then it is most probably that the meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. or later. Deadlines can always be completed later, and normally people do not get offended if someone is late.
Overall you have the feeling of a very relaxed environment. What about you? Do you care to be always on time?
