Won’t Somebody Come Take Me Home?

I woke up early by some construction noises… it seemed that my new neighbours decided to start the redesigning of their home on a holiday. I tried to sleep again but it was just not possible. A cup of cappuccino it was and a movie on TV. The winter is here and I love it. I like going out when it’s foggy and feel the cold in my face, maybe because it reminds me home and lately I’m missing home a lot. My other home I mean, my home far away from the chaotic India, where everything is much easier and I can be myself. The place where a part of my family and friends are and where I once belonged.

Most probably after few weeks I’ll be wearing tons of clothes and just feeling like a snow-woman but I really don’t care, this is my favorite season and a good cup of camomile can soothe me. Read More…

Learning to write in Hindi

For me, learning Hindi is just one of the things that I think I should achieve. I’m not so consistent though, as it mostly depends on how I am feeling and if I’m not in good mood I just leave my books and notebooks aside. My experience with teachers haven’t been so good and many times (when I’m not doing the effort) the Hindi script just looks like vague pictures decorating the landscape.

I usually throw Hindi words in my conversation but I really don’t know how to write what I’m saying. Mostly I catch these words from other people’s conversation, TV or Indian music. I guess this is the natural way to learn a new language, by exposing yourself to it. I really have fun mixing up my English, Spanish and now my Hindi… so beware when speaking to me coz you can get some surprises! Read More…
