What makes a girl a good Indian girl? Hmm this really got the thinking… I mean, we are in 2011, Indian girls live in metros and abroad, their professional and personal interests are quite diverse and there’s really not much time left to think about it.
On the other hand, if you live in an Indian society, you can be questioned about your skills as a host. You don’t know how to make chai? an aunty can say… Ouch… well maybe I can be forgiven because there are no tea leaves at home? or perhaps because I just don’t like chai? oops… that’s almost a sin in India. When I think about renewing my passport I think about going in the morning to the Immigration office with my receipt and old passport and after a quick process, getting it after a couple of hours.
Here in India the story is completely different. When an Indian citizen wants to renew or apply for his passport there’s a huge process that can easily take few months. Indian population doesn’t make things easier but at least you have the choice of applying by post, quite convenient if you are not in a hurry. Read More…

Corruption in India has many faces: bribes, people sneaking money out of the country, fraudulent contracts, money laundering, etc. And we have seen a lot of that lately with the great scandal of the Commonwealth Games, Swiss accounts, and well who hasn’t face a corrupt official asking for a bribe. It’s the daily bread.
What surprises me is that India wasn’t having an anti corruption law. Really? There hasn’t been such a law since Indian Independence? Well, that explains many many things. The draft of the law has been around though, but I guess the same corrupt politicians never wanted to approve it.
A man named Anna Hazare, who previously fasted for the implementation of the Right to Information Act, decided to fast again for the acceptance of the draft for the Anti – Corruption law in the Jantar Mantar of Delhi. After almost 100 hours fasting, he finally got his voice heard and the Government of India has accepted his draft and we all hope it will be approved by the Indian Parliament soon. Read More…

So as many of you already know…. India won the Cricket World Cup after 28 long years! It was a great match and even with the tension, we won.

I think the role of the captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was key in this match. Even at one point he seemed to be hurt, but his “6″ at the end of the match was just what the team needed to win. His swing was impressive by the way. Well, it’s also the first time I see him playing so my opinion is not so objective haha… but overall it was a team effort that brought happiness for all Indians here and abroad. Read More…
