More and more New Delhi and surroundings are invaded by the western way of shopping and entertainment, the shopping malls. You can find new malls with all the facilities and brands you can imagine. From jeans, clothes, shoes and jewellery to food courts, bookstores and entertainment for children and adults. People attend massively these malls, specially during the weekends because they end up to be very convenient. You can find everything you need under one roof. Who will not like that?

One of my favorite places for shopping is the new Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden. There you can find good showrooms like LifeStyle, where you can buy everything you need, from house appliances and modern decorations, shoes and clothes for men, women and children. For book lovers, you can stick to Crossword. Many international brands are also there. I still need to explore more this mall, but so far it is quite good.

Another option in the outskirts of New Delhi is the Ambience Mall, located in Gurgaon. A huge mall with again, all the imaginable shops you can think of. I personally like that mall very much. Feeling tired of shopping? well you can take a rest and sit in one of their nice and comfortable couches, eat a yummy croissant from that cute pastry stall in the ground floor and then continue walking. There’s a big variety of electronic items too from all the brands. For lunch you can go to the regular fast food chains, KFC, Pizza Hut, Mc Donalds or you can adventure to the food court. For people searching for a formal meal, there are some restaurants around like the Punjab Grill or the Aromas of China. In the afternoon you can again take a break in one of their coffee shops or check out for a good movie in the PVR cinemas.

You can see families, group of friends, teenagers, couples, etc. There’s a place for everyone in these malls, not only for shopping but also for spending free time.

For more fashionable people there are other malls in which you can find all the top expensive brands of course.

With the growing exposure of Indians to the Western world I think we will have more and more of these malls growing all around the city. For me this is just great, coz it means more places to explore!

Nice one..Again ;)
Sure the Mall Culture is Hitting Hard on Delhi n Ncr these dayz wit possibly Every other big (or kinda-big) name in the Indian Real Estate world openin new malls every year.
N definitely they serve a good place to hang out, spend time, have food, watch movies n stuff..bt i guess they ve still Not found the number of Actual Shoppers they’d ve wanted.
I mean the malls Do hv huge no. of footfalls daily..bt that’s that..maximum ppl r there jz fr fun sakes, free ac, variety of food or maybe movies. They’d still prefer buyin max stuff from the local markets at discounts..Not the Mall Shops at MRPs – The reason for So Many vacant shops in every other mall :)

I think, if not many people actually shop in malls it must be because of the way of shopping Indian people prefer. I mean if they have to choose between a fixed MRP and bargaining for a cheaper price, then they’ll definitely pick bargaining! :D

Exxactly the point!!
Hey..you’re quite intelligent yaar!! :P
That’s precisely wat Indians prefer..Bargaining and below MRP prices..which the malls usually won’t offer cz of their added expenses.
So they r more of a Hangout spot than a Shopping destination for many, as of now that is
Bt the way things r goin on..Sealing n demolition drives n no parkings or high parking charges etc..maybe ppl mite jz head to their nearby malls wit the intent of Shopping in the near time :)

I’m intelligent!!! yay!!! ;) hahahaha…. Now coming to the point, I think it will be interesting to see how the way of shopping in India will change in the next years.
