Yes ladies and gentlemen, I’m officially a PIO (Person of Indian Origin). I’m so thrilled with the news!

I finally got my PIO card and this means that:

- I will not need an Indian visa for the next 15 years… yay!

- I will have a special immigration counter at the international airports… yay!

- I only have to register at my FRRO after 180 days and not during the first 14 days of arrival… yay!

- No need of special student or work visa… yay!

Gosh, I cannot even believe it! So much hassle but it worth the effort. Now I feel more relaxed. Thank you dear India! :D

Thank you for your words Purush. I really feel good to have the PIO card now. The hassle of visas and registrations was always a headache for me. But now I think things will go a bit smoothly. I feel like I can finally settle and maybe new things and opportunities will come my way too. I’m keeping my hopes up! :D

Oh n also..now you can pay the Indian fares at public places, instead of the super-High fares for foriegn tourists??
I really dunno Anythin bout this..bt it sounds gr88888 n especially cz you’re So Happy bout it :) :)

Thank you Abhishek. Yeah you can say it’s a kind of green card that allows the holder to stay in India visa free and also to work, study, etc. It’s kind of the same status as the NRI, so it’s not bad at all! I’m not sure if I’ll pay Indian fares for touristic places though, but I can give it a try! Thanks again for the nice words :D

I guess you ll pay the Indian fares.
There was this US Blogger guy in Delhi..who got the Indian PAN Card n he cud show it at public places n pay the tinee-minee entry fee rather than the international one
Ur’s is even better..the Kinda Green Card :D

Really? Hmm well it’s worth a try. I’ll carry it next time I go to some touristic monument :)
