I was reading the newspaper and came across this news about the new poverty line drawn by The Planning Commission of India. I was shocked to know that they consider someone as poor if they spend up to Rs. 32 or 0.65 USD per day if living in urban areas. Really? I wonder what kind of analysis they made to reach to this conclusion. And also, what they are trying to tell us, that if for example someone spends Rs. 33 this means he is not poor?

After my stop in The Netherlands, we took the Thalys speedy train to Belgium. It’s really cool to be in another country in just a couple of hours and I was a bit curious about Belgium, one of the founding members of the European Union and homeland of HergĂ©, author of The Adventures of Tintin. Many people come to India because they are searching for something new and different. I go to Europe for the same reason. For some days I want to feel free and careless. I don’t want to get worried that one day I will not have electricity or another I will not have water.
