“You’re a part-time lover and a full-time friend
The monkey on your back is the latest trend
I don’t see what anyone can see in anyone else
But you” (The Moldy Peaches)
The holiday season is officially over. Guests are gone and today hubby and I wrapped all the Christmas decorations and suddenly our home seems so dull. But it’s okay, now it’s time to get back to work.
These few days have been really cold and foggy too. It’s that time of the year to wear thermal clothes, and drink hot chocolate.
Yesterday we celebrated el Día de los Reyes Magos. In some families, children receive gifts on this day, just like on Christmas plus you get to eat a yummy rosca de reyes, a big doughnut shaped sweet cake.
So what the Royal Magi brought me? Well, work! which is really good. I have been invited to participate in a new project that involves preparing some material in Spanish, so let’s see how that goes.
Gosh I love this weather. I wish it could be winter all the time!

Hola mi amiga. El clima frío debe ser tan precioso en la India. En Nueva York estamos disfrutando de un clima muy cálido. Pero sé que el invierno va a volver con una venganza pronto. Aye Dios mio. BTW what happened to your twitter account? I can’t find it.
¡Hola! Espero que el clima no nos trate tan mal. Yeah I’ve been really busy lately, so I decided to take a break. Will be back soon
You are a part time lover……? Please explain that prose.Yes it feels like a herd of wild buffaloes passed & an uneasy calm settles when guest leave. Those three camels & their funny riders symbolize holiday season or winter? Those three are lost somewhere in desert so definitely they are not celebrating anything nor desert signifies winter.
Lately its been a bit cold due to snowfall in hills of northern india. Many people are not satisfied with cold here & like my friend have left for AULI to witness snowfall.
Your festivals are amazing Dia del reyes Magos. I bet no one in india has a clue what you celebrate. You are like a indian who is celebrating some indian festival in Finland or Iceland or Timbaktu .Christmas used to be a big affair in india some years back but this year xmas was one of the quietest ever. Neither christmas nor the birth of Jesus holds any spiritual significance for a huge majority of India but some educated segment celebrated it to pose as fashionable & hip. You seem to be a practising christian which in itself is pretty rare. In England though a protestant christian country on paper, there are entire communities of agnostics .
Festivals bring families together & gifts foster love .
Its good that you are getting work, perfect time to stay indoors with a cup of coffee & lots of papers.
Hi Ali, there’s nothing to explain, it’s just part of a song lol. The snowfall in Auli must be super nice. The image of this post is of the 3 Royal Magi. In Spain for example, “Reyes” is a national holiday and people depicting the Magi give sweets to the kids. Well of course Christmas doesn’t have much significance in India where the majority of the population is not Christian. I think people like to carry their traditions and culture no matter where in the world they live. Culture is part of one’s identity.
where is my latest post? This is a earlier post which i thought was not posted on ur blog.
Both comments looked the same, so I uploaded one.
