I watched Outsourced last year and was always curious of what people in India will think of such a TV show. Will they find it offensive? Will they find it amusing?
In any case, Outsourced is not a show to be taken too seriously. The jokes and clichés are a bit predictable, and it also doesn’t show a real picture of what India is, but hey this is not a documentary, it’s just entertainment and fiction.
I’m not gonna be a spoiler, so I will only say that the show is about an American firm outsourcing it’s call center to India and the situations that a firangi manager has to handle with his new desi coworkers.
As of me, I plan to watch the show again. It’s okay for a pass time.

I must admit I’m not familiar with this show…but then again, I’m not a big fan of television. My favorite must-see shows are Ancient Aliens and the re-runs of Two and a half men.
My husband is ADDICTED to television and NetFlix. Do you get NetFlix in India? It’s subscribed online movies.

Outsourcing from america to india has brought a lot of happiness & prosperity to indians .If americans joke about indians ,it hardly matters as long as indian people are getting jobs and money from USA.
The bad scenario is BBC’s Jeremy Clarkson mocking india in his programme top gear. I found the top gear india special extremely funny but a bit offensive as well.Offensive in the way that Jeremy just tries to reinforce the stereotype of india – a country which is chaotic,bad roads ,no hygiene etc. I agree that indian cities are dirty but many good things have also happened but no westerner wants to showcase that.
@Nerima Unfortunately here we always get the new seasons of any show after a year or more of it’s release in the US. No NetFlix for us either.
@Ali That’s true! Indians got many jobs because of outsourcing. I haven’t watched the show you mention, but I’ll give it a look.

Outsourcing..yep, sure it gave Indians a lot of jobs, bt that’s not the only scenario for ppl gaining out of it..
I’m glad you enjoyed Outsourced. I think it was funny too and had lots of potential. Yep, sometimes people tend to overreact. By the way, I think you missed the previous post.

Yep, I also wonder why local producers cannot create better shows but alas, I guess the audience like the dramatic shows
Yeah..there r those who like those stupid Soaps.
But then, there are those who like Nice Tv Shows with Some Make-Sense stuff too
