To talk about Rajnikanth is to talk about the idol of South India and why not of all India. He is portrayed like the Superman of India in the movies and there are jokes often referred to Rajni’s super powers. Read the rest of this entry »

“You’re a part-time lover and a full-time friend The monkey on your back is the latest trend I don’t see what anyone can see in anyone else But you” (The Moldy Peaches)
The holiday season is officially over. Guests are gone and today hubby and I wrapped all the Christmas decorations and suddenly our home seems so dull. But it’s okay, now it’s time to get back to work.
These few days have been really cold and foggy too. It’s that time of the year to wear thermal clothes, and drink hot chocolate.

Also unmarried girls fast for their wish of getting a good husband one day. This festival obviously brought many questions in my head. I asked: when is the day when husbands fast for the long life of their wives? The answer was that there was not such a festival.
This really made me think that this festival was originated way back, when the husband was the sole provider for the home and the wife use to stay at home. Read the rest of this entry »

Getting married in India is always a big deal. Moreover if the families are planning to arrange the marriage for their kids then it definitely becomes a serious matter. Sometimes, when I read the newspaper on Sundays I give a glimpse to the Matrimonial section and try to understand a bit about how society still works in India and every time I get more surprised by the advertisements.
And so I was thinking how these families that publish ads in the newspaper manage all the queries. Read the rest of this entry »

When people think about outsourcing, they often think about big corporations. Like US companies outsourcing their call centers to India for example. Now what would you say if I tell you that some maids in India are experts in outsourcing? Oh the maids, they are quite a thing.
